Procedures to manage allegations

PROCEDURES TO MANAGE ALLEGATIONS

As a volunteer coach, parent or member at Pumas Rugby Club the following guidelines are to be followed where there is a concern relating to the welfare of a young person.

  • · if the young person is in immediate danger or has been physically injured, ensure they are safe and contact police or social services
  • · If the young person is not in immediate danger but you have concerns either:
  • - discuss the concerns with the Welfare Officer or club official who will advise on the correct procedure for referring your concern appropriately.

OR

  • - contact the RFU Child Protection Helpline on 0044 20 8831 6655
  • · Make a note of what you have seen or heard but do not delay in passing on the information.
  • · Complete a Pumas Incident Record Form as soon as possible.

Please remember it is not the responsibility of those working in the sport of rugby union to decide that abuse is occurring but it is their responsibility to act on any concern.
