Rugby is played on a rectangular field much like American Football.

 They are three ways to score points in rugby:

1. A Drop Kick: Score 3 points by dropping the ball to the ground then kicking it through the posts and above the bar that is on the opponent's try line.
2. A Penalty kick: Score 3 points by kicking the ball that is laying on the ground through the posts and above the bar that is on the opponent's try line.
3. A Try: Score 5 points by touching down the ball in the opposing team's end of the field (the "try" zone). After a try an extra 2 points can be scored by kicking a conversion  (same as a penalty kick).

Although rugby has many rules any one can play by knowing and respecting a few simple principles:

1. The ball is the line of scrimage and each team must always be on his side of that line before getting involved in the action.
2. The ball can only be advanced toward the opponent's end of the field by being carried or kicked forward.
3. You must be on your feet to play or touch the ball.
